HOW TO USE:

1. Boil Water.

Place enough clean water in the pot to cover the mouth guard and boil water on the stove. Put the thermometer in the water, when the water temperature reaches 158F-176F, stop boiling water and take out the thermometer.

2.Place the mouth guard in the hot water.

Lower the mouth guard into the water using the slotted spoon. This will help you avoid burning your fingers.

3.Set a timer.

You should typically leave the mouth guard in the hot water for 15-20 seconds. Make sure you start timing immediately.

4.Place the mouth guard in the cold water.

After 15-20 seconds, use the slotted spoon to remove the mouth guard and set it into a bowl of ice water for 2-3 seconds. It won't be uncomfortably hot.

5.Remove the mouth guard.

After 2-3 seconds, use the slotted spoon to remove the mouth guard. It is not hot when it comes out of the water.

6.Set your impression.

Then quickly put it into your mouth, adjusting it against your upper teeth.

Using your thumbs, push the mouth guard up and back against your molars. Bite down firmly to get the impression of your teeth on the bottom of the mouth guard and suck the guard against your top teeth.

Place your tongue against the roof of the mouth to create pressure and achieve a tight fit around your teeth. This shouldn't take more than 15 or 20 seconds.(Make sure you start timing immediately.)

7.Place the mouth guard in the ice water.

Place the mouth guard in the ice water for 20 seconds to let it harden and form correctly.(Make sure you start timing immediately.)

8.Remove the mouth guard and try the fit.

Remove the mouth guard and try the fit. It should fit snugly against your top teeth without having to hold it with your tongue, and it should fit naturally into your bottom teeth.

If you feel that your Mouth Guard is not perfectly fitted, repeat the above steps to get comfortable with the Mouth Guard.

Gets the job done

In my opinion, it's really not worth it to pay $300+ for a custom mouthpiece from the dentist when all of them, whether custom or store bought, only last about 3 years. The trick to getting a good fit is trimming off the excess plastic from the top of the piece with scissors. You don't need much plastic going horizontal from the bottom of the teeth to the gum line to get a good fit. It takes a few times to dunk in boiling water, put it in, take it out, and trim the excess plastic but worth the extra effort to get a fit that's actually comfortable.

Great for teeth grinding. The molding/shaping process could be a bit tricky; I messed up the first one because the water was to hot and it kind of collapsed and stuck together. I got the second one right though, I think it helps if you press the guard to your teeth and gums using your fingers. It might be a bit uncomfortable if it's loose. The first night it felt weird but then I followed the manufacturer's recommendation and wore it about an hour before going to bed, this helps to get used to the guard. The case is very handy and definitely a plus

USE A THERMOMETER

Very very easy to use, and Lasts a long time. Make sure you check the temperature of water when initially molding on your teeth. The material is extremely flexible and I have seen countless bad reviews due to human error in water temperatures. This product is great as long as you follow the instructions.

Glad I purchased this item

I grind my teeth at night and often wake up with tightness in my jaw. While I am NOT suggesting anyone else will have my same experience, I did want to share my pleasure with this product. Since I started wearing the mouth guards, I have noticed that I don't wake up with as much tightness and the headaches that were associated have significantly decreased. Perhaps having the barrier creates enough cushion? Not sure, but I am pleased either way. The molds fit well around my teeth. No issues with poking or irritating the inside of my cheeks. For clarification, these are not custom trays like invisalign or aligners that fit each tooth. They are a softer more flexible material that fits like a sports guard. The box comes with 4 guards in 2 different sizes and a case. All in all, for the price and experience, the purchase was well worth it.

Perfect

These are excellent! I bought 1 mouth guard just like these from Walmart for $25…. And got 4 for $12 on here that are actually waaay more better! Amazing on the price! So easy to make and very nice material was used for these guards! They really do form to your mouth which I really like! I am currently using the small size since my teeth and mouth are smaller than an average adult, so yes they have small sizes! Comes with an instructions!
